Dementia risk soars when seniors are deficient in vitamin D

Here’s what I’m getting at… In a new study of people age 65 and older, researchers tracked rates of dementia for six years. Then they compared those numbers with each volunteer’s vitamin D levels.

Now, they already knew what they would find. They knew that low D would be linked to higher dementia risk. But even so, they were in for a shock. As they told Science Daily, “The association was twice as strong as we anticipated.”

Here’s how the numbers broke down. This is truly amazing…

People with moderate D deficiency were more than 50 percent more likely to develop dementia of any kind, and nearly 70 percent more likely to develop Alzheimer’s. And for those who were severely D deficient, risk of dementia more than doubled to 125 percent, while Alzheimer’s risk jumped 122 percent.

That’s astounding! Especially when you consider that millions of people are low in vitamin D. And the severe level of deficiency is actually pretty common, especially in seniors.

This study didn’t prove that low D causes dementia or Alzheimer’s. There are many factors that can lead you down those roads. And the study also didn’t prove that taking a D supplement would prevent these brain disorders.

But we know for certain that regular use of a potent D supplement and sun exposure for a few minutes every day will put your D levels where they belong. And when you do that, well, it’s actually BETTER than buying an insurance policy, because insurance can’t prevent bad things from happening.
